Full Moon Ceremonies have come and gone. We are thankful to all who participated. May 21 - 25 is the time to rest. It is a time for meditation and reflection. During this time it is a good choice as a woman to take a cedar bath. This will totally cleanse your spirit, emotions, body and mind. To learn about how to prepare a cedar bath, one can attend our smudging class. The cedar bath is part of this class teachings. If enough ladies are interested, we can hold a this class in the near future. Take the time available during this time to take care of yourself in all ways. Take it easy and rest up. Get ready for the next phase of our grandmother moon, the last quarter. During this time, we work on being rid of things that are not beneficial to our lives or well being. More on that topic will come soon. Take care of yourself and rest sisters. This month we will be learning about our grandmother moon and her phases & how they relate to us. If you are in our area, we invite you to attend. See June 2 - Women's Talking Circle (Our Grandmother Moon Phases & How They Relate to Me.) |

Things to think about:
All life forms have a Sacred Point of View. If we do not take the time to listen, we will never learn or expand. When we are talking, we are not listening. By not listening we are stopping our own growth.
Those who have been wounded, do not want to hear the truth because its easier not to hear than to hurt. By listening to the truth about oneself, when delivered with compassion is a great talent and can help to heal old wounds. Liars are wounded people. Show compassion for those who feel they must lie. They are wounded.
Discernment: By listening to the inflections and feelings contained in peoples words, you can discern whether they are speaking truth. Why people speak untruths- some deny their true feelings and therefore are scared to speak truth, fear of retribution or punishment, and/or wounded.
Things to Remember:
Learn to listen to your body.
Learn to listen to others with respect.
Listen to Nature.
Learn to hear and interpret the unspoken messages of the Natural World.
Listen to the voices of the Ancestors.
Listen to your inner spirit.
Learn to listen to realistic vs. nonrealistic fears.
Learn to use deduction and reasoning.
Learn to use boundaries.
Pulling it all together: May being under the Planting Moon and Hearing the Truth offer us good teachings. During this month we traditionally prepare the fields. Like preparation for planting, we must prepare ourselves for Hearing the Truth. You must take from past experiences, like using stored seeds, and learn to use those experiences in a positive way in which to cultivate a new truth in your life, a new garden. By using prior knowledge, by learning from our messengers, by applying ways to listen, we too will blossom as a garden with new plant life, new ways of thinking and a better understanding of who we are and what we mean to this life.
Take the time this month to use what you have learned. Make applications to your life and you will discover a new you. Prepare yourself to Hear the Truth not only in yourself but in others around you.
